Anesthesia and Your Pet - Keeping them Safe and Comfortable

Just hearing that your pet must undergo anesthesia can illicit fear. Most of the time, your veterinarian can manage both anesthesia and the procedure itself. However, there are times when a pet would benefit by the added expertise of a board-certified anesthesiologist. Anesthesiologists in private practice are quite rare in veterinary medicine. Dr. Ovbey and Southeast Veterinary Anesthesia Services is unique in that they are available to help veterinarians throughout the region care for those pets who may be at higher risk.

If you have concerns about your pet undergoing anesthesia, ask your veterinarian if adding an anesthesia specialist to the team would be advantageous. Their sole focus is the safety and comfort of your pet from premedication through recovery from anesthesia.
